This introductory workshop is designed to provide participants with practical skills and a wealth of inspiration for incorporating AI into their journalistic work. We will explore fundamental concepts and real-world applications of artificial intelligence within the media landscape. How can AI tools be effectively leveraged in our work today, and where do obstacles remain?

What drives chatbots like ChatGPT? How can these language models assist us with idea generation, research, or writing? When no suitable photos are available, how can AI-powered tools create illustrations for articles or visualise abstract concepts and data? Advanced speech synthesis techniques open up exciting possibilities for editing audio, improving sound quality, and transcribing or translating speech.

We will also discuss important concerns, such as biases within AI systems, as well as critical aspects like copyright, data protection, authenticity, and transparency.

No prior knowledge is required for this webinar, which is tailored for those new to AI.
