This intensive online workshop will provide journalists with essential skills and inspiration to utilise AI in their journalistic work.

You will learn how to effectively employ AI tools like ChatGPT for text generation, language processing or automatic translations. The trainer will demonstrate practical examples of using and customising these AI tools to improve editorial efficiency and productivity.

Ethical and legal considerations of AI in journalism will also be discussed, addressing challenges such as bias, copyright, and data privacy.

You will engage in hands-on exercises, applying AI tools to tasks such as text generation, research or interview preparation.

Barbara Weidmann is a freelance journalist with over 30 years of cross-media journalism experience, including over ten years in a senior role at a national broadcaster. She has a penchant for pioneering work - as one of the first video journalists in Germany, a first generation mobile reporter (Mobile Journalism Award 2023) and a certified AI expert. For more than two decades, she has been a sought-after trainer and lecturer at home and abroad, focusing on Generative AI, digital storytelling, multimedia production and mobile journalism.
