Serial has captured the attention of millions of listeners since its 2014 debut unravelled the story of a young woman's murder in Baltimore in 1999, and audiences worldwide have become enthralled in the developing stories, flooding social media with questions, opinions and discussions about the plot lines.

She explained to delegates at the newsrewired digital journalism conference on 20 July how she developed and managed the relationship between the brand and its listeners, and gave her advice to publishers looking to further engage with their audience.
