Amid the noise of social media, here is how to find the needle in the haystack
Searching for stories on social media can often be a daunting task, especially during breaking news events, when platforms are inundated with posts.
So how do you find newsworthy stories amid the noise?
Tommy Shane rounded up six tips for finding the needle in the social media haystack in this article by First Draft.
One of his suggestions is to include misspellings of your keywords in your search.
"In some cases, this will be more important than others - tourists, for example, are more likely to get local names wrong or write in localised versions of them," he wrote.
