Here is how to report on climate change - even for those who deny its existence
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 2018 was the fourth hottest year recorded for the globe.
Despite the mass information being circulated in the media about climate change, some groups of people are still actively denying these environmental reports.
As a journalist, connecting to a wide range of opinions on climate change can be difficult. Arthur Wyns, climate and health researcher for the World Health Organisation and contributor to The Ecologist, shared his six solutions for reaching climate change deniers through journalism.
Wyns ranks listening to both sides of the argument and adapting your reporting accordingly as the number one recommendation.
"Understanding the perspective of climate change deniers is crucial to the process of bridging the gaps between communities, which is something journalists should strive towards," he writes.
