Podcasts have been a game-changer for the news industry, giving audiences the chance to sit down and enjoy a conversation at home or on the commute.
Typically these come out periodically, perhaps part of a weekly podcast, but others like The Washington Post's 'Post Reports' are a daily dive into the news. Executive producer of Post Reports, Madhulika Sikka, said that selecting less stories with a wider range of topics grants them the flexibility to respond to breaking news events.
"Everyone's been a bit news fatigued, particularly with politics the last few years, and I think people are craving variety," said Sikka.
