This audio chat feature can help you create a closer relationship with your followers and sources. Here is how to make the most out of it
Twitter Spaces, a feature that hosts audio-only chats on the platform, was rolled out in May 2021 and it is a great tool for journalists looking to connect with audiences and sources. During a Space, hosts invite followers to listen in on an interview or discussion, and allow them to join the conversation.
Sarah Scire, staff writer at Nieman Lab, spoke to Eric Zuckerman, head of US news partnerships for Twitter, about how newsrooms and journalists can use Spaces.
Zuckerman advises to share what you know, as well as what you are still trying to figure out – some of the best Spaces are educated discussions between journalists. Listen to other Spaces first, and test out the feature on your own. How can you make your reporting into a social audio conversation?
