Want to work on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter? Channel 5's video content editor offers first-hand advice on how to impress in interviews and nail the application process
The golden rule of applying for journalism jobs is to tailor your application to place you are applying. What about if you are applying to work in social media?
The Instagram page, So you want to be a journalist, run by Channel 5's social media and video content editor Chandni Sembhi, posted a video with best tips to securing a job working in social media.
Here, Sembhi explains what she did to impress the Channel 5 in the interview process. She identified the areas where she could add value to the organisation and pitched ideas around that.
“I noticed [Channel 5] weren't using their Instagram very much. So, in the interview I pitched them a load of ideas on what they could be doing and how they could be doing it… and that's why they gave me the job”, Sembhi says.
