Uncover fresh stories about progress made in tacking global crises and start pitching to development desks and news organisations
The Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs is a list of 17 goals that aim to bring global "peace and prosperity". They are important because all 193 member states of the United Nations have committed to them and pledged to tackle some of the greatest crises and inequalities faced by their people before the deadline of 2030.
This is a fertile ground for stories and reporting on different areas covered by these goals could even become a new career path for freelance journalists.
But it is a vast topic and it requires good background knowledge. This handy guide by Freelance Journalism Assembly contains a wealth of tips, explainers and ideas on where and how to find the stories, plus where and how to pitch them. You can download it for free here.
