The coronavirus pandemic has had an enormous impact on the media industry, both on the journalists doing the reporting and the readers doing the reading.
European Journalism Centre's project manager Meenal Thakur sets out practical tips for breaking through covid-19 news fatigue based on their recent bootcamps.
Step one: do not assume what your readers want. Ask them directly, and focus especially on what your most loyal audience is after.
"About 20 per cent of your audience are brand lovers. Focus on them, understand their habits as these people will stay on your website and use it as a resource of information," it reads.
