Not feeling confident enough to build a bot from scratch? These tools can do some of the hard work for you
Thousands of Facebook Messenger bots have been built by companies and businesses since the social network made its platform available in April, and publishers have not bucked the trend.
Some organisations, such as CNN and the Wall Street Journal, developed news bots for daily use, while others have experimented with niche bots for particular topics or events, like covering the political conventions in the US or resurfacing content from their archives.
Setting up a bot doesn't necessarily require a team of developers or a lot of coding knowledge, as there are many platforms that can take care of the technical aspects for you.
Dominik Felix of Chatbots Magazine highlighted some of the tools available to build your first chat bot in this post, including Chatfuel and motion.ai.
The list also includes tools that support other platforms apart from Messenger, such as Slack and Telegram.
