Take note of this advice when pitching to editors at magazines, newspapers and the web
With today's competition, you'll need to master the art of pitching to get an editors' attention. Let's face it - with a vast amount of emails to get through each day, you can't just assume yours will get read, or even opened.
However, don't despair, as J. D. Myall at Writer's Digest explains, there are a number of things you can do to improve your chances of getting your idea spotted and, hopefully, commissioned.
Myall tips include doing your homework and keeping your brief short and to the point.
"For an email pitch, you want to stay around two to three paragraphs. Editors are busy. Try not to be too long-winded," Myall explains, also noting a list of the key points that any pitch should include.
