Facebook has come a long way from being a platform where you could scroll endlessly through friends life updates and pictures of funny kittens.
In 2019, most journalists use the social network not only for publishing but also sourcing their stories and interacting with their audience.
Luisa Pires Luciano, program officer at ICFJ, rounded up five of the most valuable tips on how journalists can leverage Facebook.
These range from understanding the difference between a profile and a page, how to correctly use author tagging or discovering the possibilities of Facebook search.
"Many forget they can dive deeper by using the advanced search bar. When searching for something, click on 'See all results' to filter content to make results more specific," she wrote.
