When searching or verifying facts online, do not simply rely on search engines as they only show a fraction of available online content. Try this instead
Most of us use Google in our daily work but it seems that only four per cent of the content available online is actually shown in search engines.
To help you harvest information on the deep web, Leonie Kijewski rounded up these five tips from German journalist Albrecht Ude who spoke at at the 11th Global Investigative Journalism Conference.
"For example," writes Kijewski, "if you need contact information for a specific architect and know where they live, check if there’s a regional professional association database. That’s how Ude tracked down a source whose email address didn’t seem to exist online."
