Creating a journalism career alongside a full-time or part-time job can be demanding. But by following a manageable schedule, it may be the best way to pursue your passion.
In an article for Journo Resources, journalist Faima Bakar gathers advice from three freelance journalists, who manage to juggle their day jobs with a flourishing career in journalism.
Unsurprisngly, you need to be a time management master. Try not overload yourself with too many working hours, and if you find yourself struggling, take this as a sign to reduce your workload.
"Know your limits – ease off on freelancing if things get heavy at your day job and make sure you still safeguard time to decompress and socialise," it reads.
