Despite the scores of social platforms now online, the humble email newsletter shows no sign of losing the popularity contest anytime soon.
Quartz's Daily Brief topped 50,000 subscribers in January 2014 – and is likely to be way higher than that now – while the daily newsletter from Ampp3d had an open rate of around 40 per cent last year, Martin Belam, The Mirror's editor for new formats, told Journalism.co.uk.
A newsletter can be a great way of sharing both your own stories and other interesting links from around the web in a way which, done right, can feel more personal than a tweet or regular blog post.
