Use these tried-and-tested free techniques to drive viewers to your blog or news site
Whether it is for your personal blog or a news website, it is always worth looking for new methods to boost website traffic.
There are various tried-and-tested techniques to do this, according to Rebekah Bek, marketing manager, Ahrefs, who has compiled nine free methods to promote your website.
She notes how Reddit can be a great source of traffic to your site. After finding your niche in the subreddit forums and integrating into the communities, you then have a delicate opportunity to plug content.
"Once you’ve spent a good amount of time giving back to the community and making some friends, you may start referencing your own website," she said.
"Even then, try to go about it in a way that doesn’t scream ‘blatant advertisement’. Asking for opinions or positioning your website as something that might help out or interest the community are some ways to go about it."
