There are many different roles in journalism. Many of those starting out will be eyeing up a role as a hands-on digital editor in a newsroom.
If you are wondering what it takes, Cătălina Albeanu, digital editor, Romanian magazine Decât o Revistă (DoR) provides some first-hand advice from her journey into journalism in the European Journalism Centre's '100 paths to journalism' newsletter.
She said that a must-have skill if you want to become a digital editor is multi-tasking and coordinating with many different teams and projects.
"You’ll likely need to work with designers, developers, photographers and other collaborators, so it’s good to have a plan for coordinating teams as well as more traditional editorial skills." she said.
