Follow these six tips from the European Journalism Centre on launching a new membership model in your news organisations
Whether you are thinking about using paywalls, organising live events or launching a new editorial product to bump up your newsroom's revenue, there are some important factors to consider before starting a new membership programme.
Paula Montañà Tor at European Journalism Centre rounded up these six questions that you should ask (and answer) before taking the leap.
From determining who are your target communities to nailing down the unique value you can offer to your members, there are many challenges standing between you and a successful membership scheme.
However, "passion can play a key role in overcoming them. If you’re able to get rid of all the noise and focus your efforts on what really matters to your users, you’re already halfway there," writes Montañà Tor.
