John Thompson began his journalism career on a local newspaper and spent more years than he cares to admit freelancing mostly as a layout/sub-editor on business and professional publications.
He launched www.journalism.co.uk in early 1999 and his online publishing and news photography business Mousetrap Media Ltd was fully incorporated in May 2000.
Marcela is the person to contact about: newsrewired (our thrice-yearly conference for digital publishers, journalists and other communications professionals which she oversees), technology news, new tools and apps and general news about media, journalism and online publishing.
Prior to working at Journalism.co.uk, she was an assistant editor at Citywealth, trained at CNN in London and worked as a freelance journalist with work published in The Guardian, The Independent, CNN and the Huffington Post.
Before becoming a journalist, she was a communication officer, adviser, and project manager for non-profit organisations in Strasbourg, France.
Outside of work, Marcela can be spotted on the streets of Brighton petting every dog in a one-mile radius. She also claims to bake Britain's best banana bread.
Jacob is the person to contact about: general journalism news, the latest mojo developments and exciting journalism projects, especially digital ones.
Jacob joined Journalism.co.uk in the summer of 2018 as his first job in Journalism having graduated from Bournemouth University.
Outside of work, Jacob enjoys writing about his questionable taste in music.
Ophelia is the person to contact about: our open and in-house training courses and our freelance directory.
Ophelia graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA in Media Production, and is currently in the process of getting her MA in Creative Writing from there as well.
Outside of work, she writes and helps produce small audio dramas as well as working on digital art pieces made with graphical programming techniques.
