Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones visits Promenade Dance Studio in Bicester, Oxfordshire

Bicester’s newest dance school, Promenade Dance Studio, hosted Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones for its inaugural Studio Open Day on 10 December 2023. Attendees enjoyed workshops on various dance styles, including Ballroom, Latin, Hip-Hop, and more.

Neil Jones’ competitive career as a professional dancer resulted in 45 championship titles, including multiple British, Dutch, and World Championships. In 2016, he made his debut on Strictly Come Dancing. His most successful season on the show resulted in a 5th place finish with former England footballer Alex Scott in 2019. Neil Jones’ former partner, Katya Jones, is also a stalwart on the show, appearing in the past eight series consecutively.

Jones’ attendance at the Studio Open Day signals Promenade Dance Studio’s ambition to become the most recognised name in Bicester dance. The studio first opened its doors in September 2023 and has already hosted various celebrity dancers and instructors. Its owners, Craig and Evgeniya Shaw, spent more than a decade together as partners on the professional dancing circuit. The couple experienced significant success, winning a World Championship in Ballroom Showdance and a European Championship in Professional American Smooth.

Promenade Dance Studio hosts classes for dancers of all levels. For beginners, there are weekly classes on Thursday evenings. There are also weekend classes designated for younger dancers, with children as young as four able to participate in the fun. For competitive dancers, there are one-on-one and group lessons available.
