Jim's Gym shortlisted for Health & Wellbeing Business of the Year 2025

Jim’s Gym, founded by Stroud based personal trainer James Hilton, has been shortlisted for Health & Wellbeing Business of the Year at the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards 2025.

This nomination follows James’ success at the South West Business & Community Awards 2025, where he was a finalist in two categories, securing top-three placements for both Solo Entrepreneur of the Year and New Start-Up of the Year.

These recognitions reflect his ongoing dedication to helping people aged 55 and above remain active, mobile, and independent through his innovative online platform, Jim’s Gym.

James founded Jim’s Gym with the goal of making exercise accessible, enjoyable, and effective for older adults. The platform offers a variety of fitness options designed to support strength, mobility, and overall health, enabling users to stay active from the comfort of their own homes.

“I’m really excited to now offer Tai Chi, yoga, and soon Pilates, giving our members even more ways to stay active in a way that suits them.”

In addition to running the online platform, James has a studio in his hometown of Stroud where he trains his clients in person.

“To be recognised as a finalist in two categories at the South West Business & Community Awards was an incredible honour.

“Now, being shortlisted for the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards is another remarkable milestone. I’m deeply passionate about helping older adults stay active, and this recognition emphasises the importance of health and wellbeing for everyone, regardless of age.”

The Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards, powered by SoGlos in partnership with Pro Global and Made in Gloucestershire, celebrate the best in the county's lifestyle sector. With a record number of entries this year, being shortlisted is a significant achievement for James and his business.

The winners will be announced at an exclusive ceremony on Thursday 8 May at the Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham.
