Personal trainer and founder of Jim's Gym, James Hilton, has launched a podcast to support the movement of those aged 55 and over.
James, a specialist in biomechanics and injury recovery from the Cotswolds, owns Jim’s Gym, a virtual online space supporting people over 55 to lead a more active life. Now he’s offering a podcast to complement his work.
“We know and often hear about the importance of staying active, but simply knowing isn't enough. Everyone has their own motivations, and I’m hoping to encourage listeners to embrace an active lifestyle through the inspiring personal journeys of my guests,” said James.
“I’ve had the privilege of interviewing some wonderful people, from paralympic gold medallists to CEOs of global companies,” he continued.
The first episode of Jim's Gym - Inspiring Movement podcast debuted recently offering listeners exclusive access to inspiring stories and insightful conversations about what it means to be both physically and mentally active.
The first episode featured former world number one Judo Paralympian Chris Hunt Skelley MBE, who shared his remarkable journey to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic games where he won gold. Chris offered valuable insights into maintaining an active lifestyle after being diagnosed with ocular albinism at aged 19.
“I was honoured to be James’ first guest,” said Chris. “I hope my story inspires people to get active whatever their physical abilities or disabilities. For me, being fit has saved me and my sport of judo gave me a clear focus when my eyesight was failing in my teens.”
By shining a light on the experiences and achievements of upcoming guests, James aims to empower his audience to embrace physical activity and its transformative benefits.
“Each episode of the podcast is aiming to provide listeners with motivation and actionable steps to incorporate movement into their daily lives.
“I have some wonderfully inspirational guests lined up for future episodes, including the International managing director of Bright Horizons Ros Marshall MBE, and Tom Cledwyn, the managing director of Infectious Generosity.”
Listeners can look forward to new episodes of Jim's Gym Podcast - Inspiring Movement released every fortnight on Thursdays.
