Nick Ransom is a freelance journalist and recently produced the BBC documentary Inside Our Autistic Minds with TV presenter Chris Packham. He now works as a neurodiversity consultant.
He is diagnosed with autism and is seeking a diagnosis for ADHD. This has a variety of pros and cons towards how he processes information, socialises and communicates as part of his work.
In this week's podcast, Ransom discusses just a few ways his neurodivergence affects his work as a journalist and what newsrooms can do to support those in a similar boat.
But therein lies the rub: there are so many types and manifestations of neurodiversity. When there are no silver bullets or one-size-fits-all solutions, what can news leaders do to support neurodiverse journalists in the newsroom?
