You can now run the Olympic marathon route in your home town or from a treadmill near you, with the Guardian's first interactive podcast, RioRun.
But the team behind the experiment didn't set out to produce an interactive podcast, they wanted to get people to really commit to a story.
We spoke to Kenan Davis, head of interactive at Guardian US, and Rich Harris, interactive editor, to find out how they plan to shake up interactive journalism.
