For the last 12 months, The Bristol Cable has been trying to increase its annual membership revenue by £60,000, which would enable it to get another £40,000 from grant providers.
Well, this week, The Cable hit that target thanks to a strategy that involved asking members to up their contributions, gaining new members, and developing a new tier of support called Patrons, for wealthier members who can contribute up to £1,000 a year.
The brains behind the operation is strategy lead Eliz Mizon. In this week's podcast, she reflects on her campaign drive over the last year, where momentum was won and lost, and what ultimately got the news outlet over the line.
