Our phones, computers or TVs are not going anywhere. As journalists, we spend most of our week in front of a computer, which we then swap for different screens during our downtime.
Screens - necessary and enjoyable as they are - compete for our attention every day. And too much screen-time takes its toll on our minds and our ability to switch off.
In this week's podcast, we speak to Dr Charlotte Armitage, a psychologist and psychotherapist specialising in the film and TV industry, about our relationships with screens and devices.
What she has found is that spending too much time with technology damages our relationships with people in the real world, something which is so precious to our mental health as journalists.
Stay tuned for some professional tips and advice on how to develop healthy relationships with our devices.
