After working in a newsroom long enough, many journalists want to try something else.
A career change does not need to be expensive or time-consuming. Consultancy often leans on the skills you have acquired over the course of many years working in news. But shifting gears to client-based work can seem risky.
In this week's podcast, we speak with Ramaa Sharma, who has worked as a media consultant for the last three years specialising in artificial intelligence, diversity, equity and inclusion, and digital transformation. Before that, she spent 17 years at the BBC, working her way up the ladder, starting out as a radio presenter and leaving the broadcaster in executive roles.
She breaks down the skills she cultivated over the years that helped her transition, and how you too can become a consultant.
