WAN-IFRA announced today that Bjerager, who is editor-in-chief and managing director of national Danish daily Kristeligt Dagblad, was elected by the WEF board for a two-year mandate as president of the global association for senior newsroom executives.
Bjerager, who has been a member of the WEF board since 2001, will succeed Xavier Vidal-Folch, deputy director of Spain's El Pais, who served as WEF president since 2008.
Marcel van Lingen, managing director and editor-in-chief of the GPD Netherlands Press Association, was elected vice president of
WEF.
