Welsh-language broadcaster S4C has taken on eight advisors to help develop the channel's online provisions.

According to a release, have been appointed as members of its New Media Forum, from a total of 21 applicants.

The appointment of the new members follows a recent report from S4C to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, in which it announced plans to place more emphasis on developing its online content, the release adds.

"The time when we can speak of 'new' media is fast coming to an end," chair of the new forum Dyfrig Jones said in the release.

"Interactive technology is part and parcel of the everyday lives of thousands of people by now. The aim of this forum will be to look at how S4C can contribute to the growth of new technology through the medium of Welsh, and to formulate a strategy to guide us through the exciting years ahead."
