UK motoring magazine What Car? has appointed a new editor for its digital team.

Former Vnunet.com editor-in-chief James Harding will be responsible for developing the magazine's website, video and DVD products as well as exploring new methods of digital publishing.

What Car? registers around half a million unique visits every month. Publisher Haymarket claims that a quarter of UK car buyers consult the site before buying.

"We're delighted that James is bringing his specialist knowledge of websites and technology to What Car?," said group editor Steve Fowler.

"As car buyers spend more and more time researching their purchase, we aim to make it easy for them to get the information they need across a variety of media."
