Periscope's new feature allows users to take a screenshot of a livestream and share it with their wider Twitter community.
Journalists will be able to use this feature to promote their work as well as other broadcasts, encouraging their audience to watch a livestream by tweeting visual snapshots rather than simply a title and a link.
While watching a Periscope, simply take a screenshot of the stream by pressing the power button and home button simultaneously.
You will then get the option to tweet your screenshot from your account without disrupting the Periscope broadcast.

All users following a stream will know when a screenshot has been taken, as a small screenshot icon will show up in the chat next to the comments.
The move is aimed at helping broadcasters alert their Twitter followers of livestreams going on in their network, and promote their own streams.
Last week, we reported how news organisations were using Periscope to report on the current refugee crisis, much of which was advertised through Twitter.
The app also recently updated its Private Broadcast function by allowing users to select 'mutuals' from what it calls the 'invite list' – that's people you follow and who also follow you.
Periscope users can select these people individually, or invite the whole list in a single tap.
For now, sharing screenshots and the updated 'Private Broadcast' is only available on the iOS version.
