
Bunyan, who will take up his new post at the end of April, will be tasked with developing the publisher's portfolio of regional websites.
He was previously at Virgin Media, where as director of portal management he was responsible for all of the company's portal and online services. He also lead a cross-platform project to link Virgin's TV, broadband and mobile offerings.
Bunyan was previously director of internet product management at ntl. He has also held positions as sales and marketing director and then publishing director for independent production company Television Education Network.
"We already have a high calibre of talent within the business and will continue to recruit the best in class, which is highlighted by Chris's appointment," said David Black, Trinity's group director of digital publishing, in a press release.
"He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the marketplace, and his appointment demonstrates our commitment to accelerating our digital development."
