How is it of use to journalists?

News can be very negative. In fact, the predominance of negative news reporting is linked to mental health problems in our audiences. It has brought about constructive and solutions journalism to counter this negativity, focus on what is working rather than what is going wrong. But you might be struggling to find experts who can talk about the brightest ideas in a particular field or industry.

If you are looking for inspiration or a fresh news contact to switch up your coverage, non-profit organisation The Progress Network (TPN) might be a worthwhile resource to you.

The Network currently has 76 members who are actively involved with social progress. Each member has a profile on the main 'network' section, which can be filtered by profession to narrow your search.

Each profile contains an in-depth bio plus links to the expert's website and social media accounts should you want to reach out.

In addition to this, you will find links to some of their work with an indication of how long you will need to put aside to finish the article, podcast or video.

You can find books and other pieces of work from all the contributors on the 'bookshelf' section and 'articles' section respectfully. Contributors are also interviewed on TPN's YouTube channel, with more to follow.

TPN is an invite-only organisation, but if you are interested in joining, you can email the.progress.net@gmail.com to be considered.
