News International's digital subscription product for the Times and Sunday Times was awarded the Launch prize at the AOP Digital Publishing Awards last night.

Now in its tenth year the AOP Awards offer prizes across 19 categories in total. The judges called News International's digital subscription product, including its paywalled websites and applications, "a gutsy move, uniting the whole company together in a single vision, resulting in a beautiful end product."

The Telegraph Media Group took away the highest number of awards on the night, picking up four gongs across innovation, advertising and editorial categories.

This included the top prize for Innovation for its "How Should I Vote" application built for the 2010 general election.

According to the Telegraph the application, a quiz which matched those who took part with the political parties closest to their views, was used by more than a million people on both the Telegraph website and Facebook in the lead up to the election, recording more than 27 million page views.

The group also won Digital Advertising Sales Team and Ad Operations Team at the awards, while its Digital Media Editor, Emma Barnett, took away the prize for Digital Editorial Individual.

The awards this year included a new AOP Grand Prix, awarded for the first time by the judges to an overall winner from the night. It went to Future Publishing, which also picked up the winning prize for Digital Publisher – Consumer.

"We've had an amazing night here at the Roundhouse, with a full-house of publishers, agencies, suppliers at our largest event to date – it is a fitting tribute to our celebrating the first decade of the AOP Awards," Tim Faircliff, AOP chairman and general manager of Consumer Media at Thomson Reuters, said in a release.

"Our aim is to bring our members together, and I'm proud that the event continues to be a showcase for innovation in the digital publishing industry."
