Sky News has today appointed Simon Buglione, formerly BBC Sport’s head of presentation, as its creative director.

Mr Buglione will commence his new job at the end of August, when he will be responsible for the creative vision on all Sky News platforms - TV, radio and online.

Before his current role as head of presentation at BBC Sport, Mr Buglione spent four years as BBC TV News’ deputy head of presentation.

He has worked at the BBC for more than 10 years starting as a technical operator, BBC TV News in 1994 before becoming a director, and later lead director, BBC TV News in 1999.

Mr Buglione said: “Creative director of Sky News is a fantastic job and a great challenge. I'm looking forward to working at the heart of an organisation that I have long admired and on output that will continue to lead in innovation and creativity.“

Head of Sky News John Ryley said: “I’m delighted that someone of Simon’s calibre and experience is joining Sky News at a crucial time when we are developing our role as a multi-platform, multi-media provider of news.”

Following the recent introduction of a new on-air and online look for Sky News, Mr Buglione will continue their development, ensuring that the creative approaches and treatments align with the Sky News brand across all platforms.
