The front-page headline in question
The Press Complaints Commission has received more than 100 complaints about the Sun's front-page headline today and its reference to new England football manager Roy Hodgson, which the FA say is in "poor taste and disrespectful".
In a statement the Football Association said it had received "a large number of objections relating to the front page headline" in the Sun newspaper, "regarding Roy Hodgson’s manner of speech".
The headline, which read "Bwing on the Euwos", prompted the FA to raise the issue with the newspaper "and made it clear that their front page is unacceptable to us", the body added.
"On this occasion, we will not be making an official complaint to the PCC".
FA chairman David Bernstein added: "We are delighted at the media response to Roy’s appointment but are disappointed with the headline in the Sun, which we consider is in poor taste and disrespectful".
The Sun declined to comment.
At the time of writing an online version of the article (pictured below) also carried the same four words in its headline.
