IPC's digital mags breach copyright, say picture agenciesThe British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies (BAPLA) has accused magazine publisher IPC Media of breaching copyright in its digital magazines.

According to BAPLA, IPC has written to picture agencies stating that the rate for an image covers both print and digital editions.

BAPLA argues that although ABC circulation audits combine print and digital editions, the formats are legally separate and are licensed as such.

The association wants IPC to compensate its 440 members for extra use of their images in 11 digital magazines including Superbike, Practical Parenting and World Soccer.
