The nominations for this year's British Press Awards have been announced. The Daily Telegraph has won the most with 19 shortlisted entries, including scoop of the year for their coverage of the MPs' expenses scandal.

The Guardian has the second highest number of nominations with 17, followed by the Sunday Times with 15, the Times with 12, and the Daily Mail with 11.

The winners will be announced on 23 March in a ceremony at Grosvenor House.

The British Press Awards are run by Wilmington in association with the Press Gazette.

Following its near closure last year, the Press Gazette was sold by Wilmington to Progressive Media. As part of that deal Wilmington retained ownership of several events including the British Press Awards, the Regional Press Awards and the Environmental Journalism Awards.
