Mental health charity Mind has announced the shortlist for its 2010 Mental Health Media Awards for broadcast media.

The BBC dominates the news and current affairs category, scooping all four nominations with nods for the BBC World Service's series on global mental health and for a Newsround report on childhood anorexia.

In July, Mind named columnist Max Pemberton Journalist of the Year in a separate awards scheme.

"The media is incredibly powerful in educating and influencing the public about mental health problems and we have been encouraged by the vast improvements we have seen in recent years to show mental health in a realistic and sensitive way," says Mind chief executive Paul Farmer in a release from the charity.

"We hope the Mind Mental Health Media Awards will be an inspiration to broadcasters to continue to feature mental health in a positive way, with one in four people experiencing a mental health problem it should be no surprise that there is huge public appetite for this content."

The full list of journalistic nominees is available below and more details are available on the Mind Awards' website. The winners will be announced on Monday 22 November.
