How publishers, journalists and media companies can make the most of data in their work is the focus of the latest Media140 event to be held in London next month.

Media140 Dataconomy will feature talks from journalist and designer David McCandless and the Guardian's news editor for data Simon Rogers on what tools and technologies are currently available for handling and visualising data.

Rogers, who spoke to Journalism.co.uk at a recent Frontline Club event about what's driving the current trend for data visualisation in news stories, will be joined by Rufus Pollock, director of the Open Knowledge Foundation, and Andrew Lyons, commercial director of UltraKnowledge.

Journalism.co.uk is proud to be a media partner for media140 Dataconomy. Readers of Journalism.co.uk can sign-up for tickets to the event at this link using the promotional code "journalist". Early bird tickets are currently available for £25, which includes drinks.

The event on Thursday 21 October will be held at the HUB, King's Cross, from 6:30-9:30pm.
