Journalismfund.eu is offering journalism grants for investigative research. In total, 25,000 euros of funding is available, which will be distributed among projects in two categories: 'cross-border reporting' and 'European affairs'.

The competition stipulates: "the story should be of relevance for a European audience, be published in media that reach a broad or highly relevant audience, and the story should be published in at least two EU and/or EFTA countries".

Conditions for the funding have been changed since the last application round: the body hopes that choice between cross-border reporting and European affairs stories "will allow a broader variety of stories in this call for proposals".

The application deadline is 14 June 2010 and successful applicants will be announced on 22 June.

Journalismfund.eu and the research grants are supported by the Norwegian Fritt Ord Foundation; the Open Society Media Program; and the Belgian government - via the Fonds Pascal Decroos.

The fund is offering potential applicants the opportunity to ask questions via Skype (Skype name: journalismfund.eu) on 28 April, 7 and 10 May, from 9:00am-12:00pm Brussels time.
