
In his new role Brown, who will take up the position by the end of March, will be responsible for the SMG website stv.tv, where he will oversee the commercialisation of the site.
To take up the new role Brown will leave his current position as general manager of The List Digital, where he redesigned and relaunched the magazine's website resulting in a five-fold increase in monthly visitors.

"His knowledge and experience in new media will ensure that we maximise our online presence and focus on the growth opportunities for stv.tv, which is a key part of our turnaround strategy."
Prior to joining The List, last year, Brown worked on Scotsman.com for six years as head of online operations and later as general manager of the site.
He has also worked as head of web product development for Financial Times Electronic Publishing.
