Shaun Milne, who has been at Deadline News for two years, will start in his new position with STV on Monday. STV Local is due to launch in Edinburgh later this month and will continue to roll out across Scotland during the rest of the year.
As regional editor Milne will be responsible for the editorial content of the new sites in the area, working with a team of community editors to deliver local content.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining such a stellar cast at STV Local and excited by the huge opportunities that lie in store for everyone connected with the project," he said in a release.
At Deadline News Peter Laing, who joined the company as chief reporter last October, will take over as managing editor.
"I'm delighted to be taking Deadline into its second decade," Laing said in a release from the agency.
"I look forward to building on our reputation for top-quality journalism while addressing the changing needs of the industry."
