Belfasttelegraph.co.uk was named Digital News Service of the Year with recently launched Scottish newspaper the Caledonian Mercury and guardian.co.uk nominated in the same category.
Amongst the national newspaper categories, the Sunday Times won the Weekend Newspaper of the Year prize, the Financial Times won Newspaper Design of the Year and Daily Telegraph won the Best Use of New Media Award for its virtual Chelsea Flower Show garden.
The Guardian's iPhone app took the Fujifilm Grand Prix, beating the Times' Times+ membership scheme which was highly commended. The Guardian also won the Best Use of Citizen/Community Journalism for its G20 coverage. Trinity Mirror Regionals was highly commended in the same category beating competition from Brighton's The Argus, which was nominated for its community reporters scheme.
Regional newspaper winners included the Express & Echo in Exeter, which was named Environmental Newspaper Company of the Year, and the Cumberland News, which won Weekly Newspaper of the Year.
