Media communications intelligence firm Cision UK has teamed up with Twitter chat group #CommsChat to expand the reach of the discussion group for journalists, bloggers and communications professionals.

#CommsChat was set up in May 2010 by social media consultant Adam Vincenzini and communications consultant Emily Cagle to offer a weekly Twitter chat for the communications industry to discuss current trends and issues.

The partnership with Cision will support the group's output with plans for white papers, webinars, offline events and seminars, according to a press release.

"Cision's goal is to make it easier for the PR and media communities to connect and do their jobs more effectively. We are thrilled to support #CommsChat and help build bridges between the communities," says Tosh Bruce-Morgan, managing director of Cision UK, in the release.

"The social media movement and the changing media landscape demands that we listen, facilitate and provide the tools to enable PR and media people to communicate. #CommsChat and Cision share the common goal of bringing these communities closer together and we also think we can bring something to this conversation."

The chat takes place on Monday nights at 8pm (GMT) and features a weekly guest host. Tonight's special guest is Reputation Online editor Vikki Chowney, who will lead a discussion on public relations' view of the world versus reality.

Cision UK is also a media partner for Journalism.co.uk's news:rewired events. The next news:rewired event takes place on 16 December 2010 at Microsoft UK's offices in London.
