Jon Snow will continue to write his Snowmail newsletter as usual, which now has 30,000 subscribers, and the week's news reports and an archive of specialist coverage will also be available on the site.
Channel 4 News worked for months to arrange unprecedented access to the country, and has a team of 12 journalists and producers in Tehran this week. Staff are working with the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB and independent journalists and film-makers for reports on politics, identity, technology and culture - as well as the ongoing dispute about Iran's nuclear programme.
"Iran is rapidly becoming the most international story this year," said Dorothy Byrne, head of news and current affairs.
"Jon Snow and the Channel 4 News team, with their track record for powerful foreign reportage and insightful analysis, have an unprecedented opportunity to try to answer that question. I also believe they will tell us much we don't know about life in Iran and the Iranian perspective at a time of growing world tension."
