The Associated Press' video coverage of the Pakistan floods was awarded gold prize for online video journalism at the Asian Digital Media Awards yesterday.

The event, run for the first time this year by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), awarded prizes across six main categories, including online media, digital content and social media.

The winning video footage from the Associated Press included testimonies from those who survived the floods, which hit the country earlier this year.

The Associated Press also took gold prize for online infographics in relation to its coverage of North Korea's succession.

Other winners included the Wall Street Journal Asia, which took gold for its newspaper website in the best in online media category.

Singapore Press Holdings took gold, silver and bronze for both the mobile publishing award and innovative use of social media award, as well as prizes in other categories.
