Evening Standard

The website for the London Evening Standard saw a monthly increase in web traffic of 33 per cent in May, following two months of decline, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulation figures.

The website recorded 3.3 million monthly unique browsers for the month compared to 2.5 million in April. In March the Standard saw a month-on-month decrease in monthly traffic of 21.79 per cent, the same month it relaunched its website, followed by another fall of 11.27 per cent in April to 2.52 million.

In a release, Independent Print Limited said the figures represent "continued investment in the digital development of the brand".

Managing director for digital at the Independent Zach Leonard added: "The record monthly traffic for May illustrates the sustained digital growth of the Independent and London Evening Standard across both web and especially mobile."

The Independent also announced today the planned launched of "an enhanced mobile website", which will go live "in coming weeks".
