The awards, now in their 23rd year, cover 13 categories across television, radio, print and new media, with prizes including the Journalist of the Year and the Press Award.
Winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on 10 May in London, which will be presented by Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow.
Entries can be submitted for the annual awards until 7 February.
Last year's Journalist of the Year was Dan McDougall, Africa correspondent for the Sunday Times, who was also shortlisted for two other accolades.
It was the first time the Journalist of the Year prize had appeared in the awards, which McDougall received for three pieces published in Live magazine, the colour supplement with the Mail on Sunday.
